general principles

The Conflict Cost Calculator collects and processes personal data by adhering to the data privacy laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

We use your personal data to enable you to make use of the services of the Conflict Cost Calculator. In no case we will transmit your personal data to any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not have Facebook ‘Like’ Buttons. We use Google Analytics for the anonymized analysis of user activities.

use of your data

The Conflict Cost Calculator can be used without any prior log-in or registration.

Purpose of a registration is to enable the user to re-activate any previously entered conflict cost calculations.

For registration the following details are mandatory input:

  • first name, last name
  • e-mail address
  • professional category
  • size of organization
  • Industry segment

The voluntary details include:

  • about me: personal information
  • name of organization

The entries are checked following formal criteria (such as the proper structure of an e-mail address) but not for correctness. Please note that giving your correct e-mail address is a prerequisite for our being able to send you a new password once you forget your original one.

Your entries are invisible to any other user. Should future functionalities of the Conflict Cost Calculator facilitate a publication of user data or the communication between users, you will be explicitly asked for your approval.

Your password will by encrypted, thus only you know it. Please note that your data privacy mostly depends on the chosen password. Preferably use a long password including capital letters, numbers and special characters.

We reserve the right to evaluate anonymized data for statistical purposes.

cookies

To be able to identify you during a visit, so-called 'session cookies' will be recorded on your final device. These will be deleted after your logout and feature no further purpose.

log-files

To receive data e.g. about the number of users of the Conflict Cost Calculator but also about any errors or malfunctions, the following information will be recorded:

  • time of the server enquiry
  • type and version of browser
  • used operation system
  • referrer URL (previously visited website)
  • host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
